Intended to be a strong architectural landmark we created a composition of buildings (Urban planning, Exhibition center and Archive) in a singular language façade that is welcoming and protective. It’s turned inwards, thus creating a central courtyard that opens towards the lake.

Our proposal offers an end to the conquest of the buildings and artefacts here. That is why we should not build any kind of building, but an object that clearly reveals the natural attributes of the place. Our proposal is simple and in a natural way, as an element that does not belong to the city, but belongs to the landscape.

Inspired by the art of Troy, this volume mirrors the helmet’s balance of vigor and elegance. We translated its sharp contours and smooth, bowed surfaces into the building’s geometry by applying subtle curvature to the planes while maintaining rigorous, clean-cut edges. This synchronization captures an intimidating yet sleek architectural stance.

We aim for an environmentally responsible, healthy urban hub. Two horizontal buildings and a tower are unified by a continuous exterior and a vast pergola. At the heart, an open-air market sits beneath a perforated, net-like canopy. This roof structure hovers over patio spaces, delicately sheltering visitors from direct sun while inviting gentle breezes through the site.

Taichung City Cultural Center in Taiwan is a container of interwoven elements. It is reminiscent of the traditional Taiwanese basket woven from bamboo strips. The façade is the best representation of that, creating an envelope that encloses the different functions on the inside while providing glimpses into the building through the gaps.

Water’s seamless fluidity and natural algorithms inspired our design. Just as waves merge effortlessly with calm water, our façade, landscape, and interior flow without interruption. This liquid theory extends to the population; the circulation design meanders people through the building like minerals in a river, creating a seamless transaction between space and movement.
